Treasure Down 69 Highway
The Creator gave us a cool, windy Autumn day to savor His goodness and we ventured out to a wonderful spot in Southern Johnson County called the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. This place is a wonderful mix of mulched nature trails in the woods, creeks, paved paths, formal gardens, large pond, flowers-flowers-flowers and more water.
We hooked up with my sister-in-law Mandy and her daughter Teagan and had a splendid afternoon. Armed with pumpkin bread, cookies and tea we had wonderful reprieves from our walking to sit and enjoy each other and nature's changing colors.
If you have the opportunity go enjoy this spot. It is a longer drive (depending on where you live) down I-69 South to 179th Street, but the perks are that the gardens are free (!) and the walking is manageable, meaning there aren't a lot of slopes or climbing (in case that is a concern).

Posing.
Climbing the rocks. This was a wobbly picture moment.
What was I thinking? Hey kids, climb on these rocks for a picture!
The girls...T "fishing."
I just LOVE holding hands photos.
