a watering team

We had a good rain yesterday, so our rain barrels are now full again. The previous evening I found my husband and son watering the plants together. Our system is to fill a five gallon bucket (a white bucket is in between my husband and son), fill a funnel and put the funnel directly where the plant meets the soil so the water has a direct path to the roots. This is our way to be efficient with our water supply, and it does stretch this resource well. Even when the barrels are dry and we use water from the hose, this system keep us from having to use and excess amount.
