the face of ten

We celebrated Ella's 10th birthday earlier this week by spending some time in Chicago. More than once we have celebrated my son's birthday over a Summer family vacation, but since Ella's birthday is in the Winter that makes logistics a bit more complicated. We've been eyeing the Chicago museums, knowing they would speak my daughter's language, so this is the year we took the leap to make a Winter road trip to the Windy City. It was windy, cold, and snowy (not unlike home in KC), but we had the best of adventures and a wonderful birthday celebration for Ella.

I'll write more about our vacation later when I've sorted the pictures, but for now, here is the face of ten!
