Last week's snowfall of eleven inches 

has left a beautiful blanket in our yard. 

All the treasures of the warm weather season lay underneath the comfort.

The moisture is great for all living things

that will show their flowering, leafy beauty

come Spring and Summer.

Now is the time to enjoy the quiet, warm, indoor life;

live up the slowness; drink one more cup of coffee; bake another loaf of bread and another. 

Too soon and the heat of Summer will be here; 

I'll enjoy these sweater-wearing, read-another-book days to their fullest.
