Current Beauty

I've always been one to love roses - 

the blooms, the amazing scent -

then Jesse's aunt gave us cuttings 

from her peony bushes.

My love for roses hasn't changed,

but I discovered peonies 

are just as beautiful

and just as fragrant.

I perhaps owe having become 

a painter to flowers.

would make such an assertion.
