A Gardener

I've always considered my husband the family gardener.

This year, though,
I realize that I'm a gardener too.

I always hesitate to give myself labels.
Labels seem to imply expertise,
or be all-encompassing.

I am not an expert gardener.
Gardening does not encompass my life.

Gardening is a part of my life,
and I can hold my own tending to a garden.

So, there. I'm a gardener!

(You may have thought from my posts
that I've been a gardener all along.
Well, I guess you made the discovery before I did!)

Plants in order of appearance:
creeping jenny, black-eyed susans,
oak leaf hydrangea (drying),
cosmos, coreopsis, annabelle hydrangea
