Transforming the Task-Oriented

(Our bright orange lilies are blooming!)

But the fruit of the Spirit is
love
joy
peace
longsuffering
gentleness
goodness
faith
meekness
temperance
against such there is no law.

 Galatians 5:22-23

One of the greatest lessons this task-oriented lady
has learned while being focused on her home and family
is that a life full of tasks has the appearance of being productive,
but that what matters,
even if she doesn't appear to get anything accomplished,
is for her days to be laced with
love,
joy,
peace,
longsuffering,
gentleness,
goodness,
faith,
meekness
and temperance.

I am never at peace full of busyness,
(although at one point in time I revered being busy,
and kept wondered why I was inwardly frazzled)
but when I am full of Him and still.

The doer in me cries, "this is not enough!"
Your life is not valid without tasks.

Life itself necessitates tasks without me creating them
or idolizing their apparent productivity.
but living out life's tasks with the Spirit's fruit,
now, there, that is the life I desire,
and am ever learning how to live.
