"the great passionate heart..."

“Surely those who know 

the great passionate heart of Jehovah

 must deny their own loves

 to share in the expression of His.”

Many times I do not want to deny my own loves (desires, wants) to share Him. Yet, I am compelled by His great love for me to do so. My children and I reviewed  I John 4:21 this morning: 

"And this commandment 

have we from him, 

That he who loveth God 

love his brother also." 

  

I seem to get stuck when I get to thinking about all the (apparent) love not coming my way. No doubt, God doesn't say to love because others love me, but because He does. And His love? No one loves me greater.
