This Spring we've been busy doing clean-up around the backyard
(organizing, purging, moving wood, etc).
When you move items that have been in one place for some time
creatures are usually underneath,
and a myriad of snails were discovered recently.
My naturalist children love these discoveries,
and my husband assisted my son in creating a snail ship
(which I thought adorable and worthy of a photo,
I'd never seen a snail ship, you understand).
This creation is quite typical of my children's time outdoors.
Yesterday they formed a naturalist's club,
and began a collection that is now residing in the fort.
There is always something going on around here, isn't there?
