blackberries

Since 2013 marks the first year of growing potatoes for our family, we decided to try another new (for us) plant - blackberry bushes. Twelve of these Chester Thornless blackberry bushes were planted yesterday afternoon. We have never grown fruit, so this really is a new adventure, but like anything else we grow, we are hopeful. We ordered these bushes from a Missouri nursery called Stark Bro's. They arrived looking great, and we followed the instructions adjusting the plants to the weather, which was tricky considering our cold snap and snowfall last week. They have been planted on a gentle slope in full sun, and like I mentioned before, we're hopeful!
