Amnicon Falls State Park was a sweet place to have our final Wisconsin waterfall viewing and hiking experience. This park also had a couple of trail closures due to flooding, but except for a short distance on a park road we were hiking in the woods. There were many rapids along the Amnicon river to accompny the 4 main falls. It was a lovely, peaceful time spent in the woods, where it felt very Middle Earth, specifically the woods of the elves. The park seemed busy on this day with about 10 cars in the parking lot and we saw probably 25 people during our time on the trails. The water here was more accessible than the other parks, so we were able to get our fill of time near the river.
Amnicon gave us ferns, birches, woods, waterfalls on our final Northwoods adventure before spending the next day quietly at the cabin and lake and then driving home very refreshed.
