~spring blooms~

I am very good at hibernating. Books, hot drinks, cozy sweaters, British mysteries. What could bring me out of that reverie?

Spring blooms.

Not just spring, because spring means rain, mud, wind, cold intermingled with a warm, dry days here and there.

No, it's the blooms. They are glorious, vibrant, shocking in their metamorphosis from bud to beauty. We like them so much we keep adding more to the garden.

This has been our most diligent spring yet in the garden (although that year Jesse built a privacy fence while I was expecting a baby probably surpasses it). We have summer plans and these weeks have been the time to compost, mulch, build new beds, plant-plant-plant, tidy up, and we even added a big project to the list that is almost complete. We are already reaping the rewards of having everything in order as the plants do look healthy, maybe the healthiest ever, and the To Do list has shrunk to almost be that one wonderful word "maintenance."

We are already harvesting from the garden, but I'll save those details for my first official garden post of 2022.
