'landis winter' lettuce

Just a few weeks into the season of Spring and we are already beholding so many beautiful blooms. The chores of spreading mulch, planting potatoes, onions, and greens, casting grass seed, assembling compost tea, and tidying supplies has commenced. We are still enjoying so much goodness from last year's garden ~ potatoes, squash, garlic, greens, tomatoes, green beans, herbs ~ it only encourages me to continue using my resources wisely for this year's garden.'Landis Winter' lettuce was happy to overwinter, so we've been enjoying fresh salads and lettuce wraps already. Sage and Oregano are flourishing, so dehydrating those herbs has begun. Warm, but not hot, temperatures, and regular rainfall have allowed the plants to put on quite the Spring show, a few rose blooms in April is not usual! Hopefully this weekend finds us picking up tomato plants (and peppers, eggplant, a few herbs], and once they are planted it will really fill like the full gardening season has begun with Summer just around the calendar corner.
